[07:04]<+camerongray> hey jacky
[07:04]<@jacky> camerongray: Hello
[07:08]<+camerongray> Oh yeah, pottsi was on
[07:09]<@BC_Programming> !seen Pottsi
[07:09]<+camerongray> hey BC_Programming
[07:09]<+camerongray> That was a close one...
[07:09]<@BC_Programming> oh
[07:10]<+camerongray> Tried to pick up glass and it had somehow stuck to the desk, poured it all over the place
[07:10]<+camerongray> *just* missed my iPod
[07:10]<@BC_Programming> better luck next time
[07:10]<+camerongray> hehehe
[07:10]<@BC_Programming> :P
[07:10]<+camerongray> I never really use it, it was pretty much a souvineer from the 5th Avenue Apple Store
[07:11]<+camerongray> I'll probably use it for app development
[07:12]<@BC_Programming> So apparently I can download any version of VB I wanted... didn't know this
[07:12]<@BC_Programming> and yet, VB5 is ever elusive
[07:12]<@BC_Programming> not even on MSDN
[07:12]<+camerongray> lol
[07:12]<@BC_Programming> My collection will never be complete :(
[07:13]<+camerongray> Ahh, collection
[07:13]<+camerongray> I was wondering why you would ever need VB5
[07:13]<@BC_Programming> I think I have a "Control Creation Edition" of VB5
[07:13]<+camerongray> Ahh yeah, we used that in school
[07:13]<@BC_Programming> Still worse than VB6 Learning Edition
[07:13]<+camerongray> Yeah
[07:13]<@BC_Programming> though at least you could compile .ocx files
[07:14]<@BC_Programming> would be insane to create a CLR for Windows 3.1 or DOS, lol
[07:15]<@BC_Programming> No Visual Studio 97 on MSDN either... WHAT are they trying to hide
[07:15]<@BC_Programming> What secrets does it contain?
[07:18]<+camerongray> hahaha!
[07:19]<@BC_Programming> "Forefront Identity Manager 2010 R2"
[07:19]<@BC_Programming> yeah that sounds real exciting
[07:20]<@BC_Programming> sounds like a tool for Identity thieves "Manage all your stolen identities with Microsoft (r) identity manager!
[07:20]<+camerongray> HAR¬
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> huh what is Songsmith
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> is that like a MS FLStudio or something
[07:21]<@BC_Programming> RAGE! "This product is not available at your subscription level. " DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?
[07:22]<+camerongray> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oGFogwcx-E
[07:22]<@Mulreay> hey camerongray have you got a minute?
[07:22]<+camerongray> And they wonder why it failed...
[07:22]<+camerongray> Yeah
[07:22]<@Mulreay> PM?
[07:22]<+camerongray> sure
[07:23]<@BC_Programming> one of the contributing reasons it failed may be because their commercial was so ridiculous
[07:23]<+camerongray> yeah
[07:23]<+camerongray> Wait...
[07:23]<+camerongray> Isn't he using a mac?
[07:23]<@BC_Programming> It seems that the more money a company pays for a commercial, the stupider it is
[07:24]<+Craig> https://www.facebook.com/PCWorld/posts/454485167953731
[07:24]<+camerongray> lol!
[07:24]<@jacky> BC_Programming: Hello
[07:25]<@jacky> Craig: Hello
[07:25]<@jacky> dang... I missed pottsi eh?
[07:25]<+Craig> Hello
[07:25]<@jacky> did he say anything? where's he been?
[07:25]<+camerongray> Just said hi
[07:25]<@jacky> something is wrong... it is not like him to totally ignore email, etc.
[07:26]<+camerongray> Hmm, seemed fine
[07:26]<@jacky> next time anybody sees him, can you ask him to contact me?
[07:26]<+camerongray> We chatted in Coding Cafe too
[07:26]<@jacky> I'm glad he came back online though
[07:26]<@Mulreay> * pottsi has joined #glitchpc
[07:26]<@Mulreay> * ChanbotVI sets mode: +v pottsi * pottsi is now known as wasntme
[07:26]<@jacky> Mulreay: Hello
[07:26]<@Mulreay> Doubt that helps
[07:26]<@Mulreay> hey jacky
[07:27]<+Craig> ... wow, songsmith really? ... wow...
[07:27]<@BC_Programming> I was interested in giving it a go until I saw the commercial
[07:27]<@BC_Programming> I don't think commercials are supposed to do that
[07:28]<+Craig> Hahahahah
[07:28]<+Craig> And seriously its a microsoft product!?
[07:28]<@BC_Programming> evidently
[07:29]<@BC_Programming> I can download Project 95... and yet Visual Studio 97 does not appear! I swear it's a conspiracy or something
[07:31]<@BC_Programming> Expression Studio Professional is outside my subscription level, but apparently Expression Studio Ultimate is fine
[07:31]<+Craig> HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
[07:58]<+camerongray> This is terrible: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-22141494
[08:00]<@Mulreay> Heh genius 'You cannot return your headset as due to health and safety we cannot re-sell headsets that people have worn'. me 'but it's broken?' 'OK will have to speak with the owner' got to love eBay
[08:01]<+camerongray> lol

[22:05]<DSdavidDS> Hello
[22:05]<DSdavidDS> I have a CSS Question: Why must the 'background-position' have negative values rather that the normal position?
[22:06]<@BC_Programming> does it? I thought it worked with positive values
[22:07]<DSdavidDS> my situation is that I have a sprite sheet
[22:07]<DSdavidDS> and I need to make my x/y values negative in order that it properly uses the correct image
[22:08]<@BC_Programming> ahh yes, that would likely be because the image otherwise has 0,0 at the top-left corner
[22:08]<@BC_Programming> so you need to move it left (negative X) and up (negative Y) to change what is shown
[22:08]<DSdavidDS> Okay, so that is where I am confused.
[22:08]<DSdavidDS> So the (0,0) is at the top left of an image
[22:09]<DSdavidDS> and if the number is negative, wouldn't it move even further lef?
[22:09]<@BC_Programming> yes, the image would move left, but if it is a sprite sheet, that means that something else will be shown where 0,0 was
[22:10]<DSdavidDS> ?
[22:10]<@BC_Programming> like if you had a bunch of cells that were 30x30 pixels, if you used a left position of -30px, it would show the second item
[22:11]<@BC_Programming> because the first one is "moved off" to the left, where you can't see it
[22:11]<DSdavidDS> ah, I see where you are going...
[22:12]<DSdavidDS> so the position is always going to be at (0,0), but you are moving the whole sprite sheet so that fixed location is where I want it
[22:12]<@BC_Programming> yeah exactly
[22:13]<DSdavidDS> Okay. Thank you so much!
[22:13] * DSdavidDS (Mibbit@mib-5FD69DC6.dsl.irvnca.pacbell.net) has left #glitchpc ((thanks!))
